Primarily focused as a studio project, Origami Army created its indie and ambient infused debut EP What is And What Can Be in 2017, writing the album over email with an entire country in between. The EP was written by Casey Reid (One Life to Lead/Cherie Amour) and Neal Karkhanis (The Great Heights Band). rad-pop. records re-issued the EP on all digital platforms in 2020.

Karkhanis has since released two singles - Never Any Time (2020) and Letting You Go (2021) under the moniker with plans for additional releases down the road.
